The fireplace downstairs is a gas fireplace and the thermostat is on the opposite wall (labeled "Furnace").
You can park in front of the house or down the right side. Please do not park on the street as it is actually an alley and there is nowhere to park
Trash pickup is on Tuesdays. Believe it or not, they do not have recycling so you can just put it all in the bin.
Please respect neighbors, especially in the evenings.
A car is strongly recommended. Wildlife is common—especially at dawn and dusk—so please drive carefully.
Winter: AWD/4WD strongly recommended. Dress in layers—it gets cold quickly.
Summer: Afternoon thunderstorms are common. Start hikes early and bring bear spray.
This is a great place to walk and is just 5 minutes away from the house. Directions: Go left out of the house and take a right on Broadway. At the end of the street is the entrance to the Refuge. See thousands of elk in winter on sleigh rides ($35). Drive the refuge road year-round for wildlife viewing.
Popular local hiking trails right from town. Mostly very moderate hikes/walks but beautiful view back in the East Valley. Note: If there is a lot of snow may be difficult to access.
Most popular hike in the Tetons. Take the Jenny Lake boat shuttle ($20 round-trip) to cut 2 miles, then hike 1 mile to Hidden Falls. Continue to Inspiration Point for incredible views. Note: Closed in Winter. Arrive early - parking fills by 8am in summer. The parking can get overwhelming due to the high volume so as suggested, come as early as possible or later in the afternoon.
Iconic mountain views, lakes, and trails. Drive the scenic loop, visit Mormon Row for photography. $35 vehicle pass valid for 7 days. Wildlife viewing (moose, bears, elk) is best at dawn and dusk.
Day trip destination known for geysers (Old Faithful) and wildlife. Allow full day for visit. Check road conditions in winter.
World-class skiing in winter with 2,500+ acres of terrain. In summer, take the Aerial Tram to 10,450 feet for breathtaking views ($42 adults). Hike from the top or enjoy waffles at Corbet's Cabin. Wildflower trail is a moderately difficult trail that will take you up to the top of the Gondola where you can enjoy great view and a drink or snack. It is a great hike.
Jackson's "town hill" - walk from downtown! More affordable skiing option. Winter: night skiing available. Summer: scenic chairlift rides, alpine slide, mountain coaster. Josie's Ridge trail is a great hike (moderately difficult) that takes you up and over Snow King and down the other side and wraps around back to the base of the mountain. Snow King Summit trail will take you to the top of the mountain. It follows most of the ski switchbacks so it is not as challenging but would still call it moderate. It provides incredible view of Jackson and the Tetons as you go up.
Miller Park: Lots of open court time virtually every day. Great for drop-in play and meeting locals. Free outdoor courts.
Pickleball Garage: Indoor facility if you want guaranteed reserved court time. Perfect for bad weather or when you want to ensure you get a court.
Very trendy, little bakery/café on Broadway. Arrive early as it is very very popular (always posted on Youtube videos). Also serves excellent breakfast bowls and sandwiches. Expect lines in the morning - it's worth the wait! Two locations: One in town and one on the way to the ski area (in The Aspens). Bonus note: There is a sister bakery called Picnic on the other side of town and it serves the same food. Its not quite as charming as Persephone but is the same delcisious food.
